About Lake Garda

If you found this site, the chances are you already know or have heard how wonderful Lake Garda is.

It’s all true, and more.

In winter the climate is mild, yet the ski slopes of Madonna di Campiglio (world-class skiing) are just 1 1/2 hours away by car. Day skiing trips are perfectly possible; we do it all the time.

In spring and autumn, the lake’s micro-climate helps keep the atmosphere mild and breezy. The vegetation immediately around the lake is totally different to the plains of Verona and surrounding provinces; around the lake you will see lemon and olive groves as well as vineyards set amidst spectacular scenery, all testament to the mild climate.

Summer can be very hot, but the Lake Garda winds help, and if you choose a property in the hills you’ll find it much, much cooler.

Lake Garda is renowned for sport: watersports (wakeboarding, canyoning, kitesurfing and windsurfing as well as traditional sailing), golf (we have three superb courses very near all our properties), horse-riding and mountain-biking, walking (the hills behind many of our properties hide some fantastic walks in unspoilt nature), fishing, go-karting and more.
We can help you arrange wakeboarding, canyoning and fishing trips. Please contact us for details once you have made your booking.

Children, teens and adults alike will enjoy the theme parks at the southern tip of the lake; around a 45 minute drive from our properties, you can choose from Gardaland (Italy’s largest theme park), 4 different water parks, nature parks and safari parks, a movie theme park and a jungle adventure park. You’d need weeks to get through them all.

The food and wine are generally excellent. With some notable exceptions, we’d advise against the lakeside pizzerias and restaurants (although the setting is superb, you might find it expensive and food so-so) and try some of the backside trattorias and restaurants instead. Our managers are experts in the local cuisine, so don’t hesitate to ask them for suggestions on your arrival.

If you’re looking for culture, you won’t be disappointed. The Arena di Verona is an hour’s drive away. There are also museums, archaeological sites, open air antique markets and castles to visit.
